Is totally how my Snupin Santa entry is turning out.

So do let me see if I have this straight.
LJ's introduction of permanent accounts shortly before they began deleting users for material that they deemed ungainly was an attempt to show that they were in support of organizations that championed free-speech and discouraged sexual assault at the same time, but it was not:

1. an attempt to win back money..err...loyalty from those members of fandom who had cancelled their paid accounts due to the first set of incidents
2. done in hopes that more fandom members would stay with LJ even after they realized that the inquisition was at it again
3. made to seem like an act of unequivocal hypocrisy the week after :P

And the change in the way they mark deleted journals makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time.

In all fairness, that was horribly presumptuous and cynical, and they were likely trying to make the best out of a bad situation, but I was having a rather bad day and coming home to find this was a bad way to top it off.

I just spent the better part of the evening backing up this journal (and all of my other stories which I hadn't posted in here...doh!) at greatestjournal under the same name.

I have an hour to figure out the finishing touches to my Bellatrix costume before I have to get to work having Bella teach little kids how to fold origami owls.
I had debated whether I wanted to work the release, it being the very first last time I'd be able to do so, but also the last time I would be able to get caught up in the whole thing myself with my friends (who are admittedly not as fanatical about the whole thing as I). So I'm going to work until 11 and then go to the other store to pick up the book o.o

I'm a relatively new fan, I think. I did read a bit of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire to my sister quite a few years ago, but only sat down to read the whole series myself when Goblet was put on my reading list of one of my university courses.

This is where I had intended to put my thoughts on the conclusion of the series, but my boyfriend is pouting, and...wait, now he's walking around my kitchen trying to ascertain what is making a beeping noise. It's all very endearing. So I suppose that I must go now and return after. :)

I ended up seeing the movie twice in two days.
And all I really have to say (as it is 2am and I have to wake up at 6) is:

How incredibly corporate. Not that one should expect otherwise, I suppose, but there's always been something about this show that seems over-glossy to me. I get the feeling that the underlying message tonight was: "My stock options thank you."

I continue to be MIA in lieu of visiting family and am not writing a Snupin/Sandman crossover in the meantime (which means yes, yes I am).
I will admit to reading the series voraciously, however, and recommend it to those who enjoy all things dark, plotty, and well-written. I will also admit to being a little worn out from over-entertaining.
*snoozes*
